Are you an entrepreneur with a business that is or will revitalize and bring equity to our community? How would you like to win 1 full year of rent and utilities paid in full? Project Impact’s CUC Business Development Center is launching CUC[RE]BUILD Designed to discover those brilliant community building ideas that bring greater inclusion into community entrepreneurship ecosystems. CUC[RE]BUILD also provides a place to make the business grow.
Here's how it works
We start with Intentional Collaboration (IC) Workshops. In these workshops we bring the right people into the room to make sure the focus of [RE]BUILD remains on the true needs of our community and on creating the correct sustainable solutions for South Bend. This event encourages continued collaboration with a process focusing on a self-reinforcing ecosystem.
Because [Re]Build centers around the main goal of intentional and continued participation with the community, immersive learning is key to our approach. The CUC [RE]BUILD program is planned as an annual event, so identifying local marketing and other business support service partners that will profit from the ecosystem we create, is a key component of the program.
The IC Workshop will be the launchpad for the Business Plan Competition. In it, local collaborators will design the specific components of the competition leveraging the success of previous [RE]BUILD programs but customized for the specific needs of the South Bend community. Sponsors, donors, coaches, and mentors participating will be involved in the judging, and a major component will be community feedback provided through our Geo-location mobile app.
Who can participate?
The short answer is anyone who wants to be part of this vibrant intentional collaboration. If you have a business or are starting a business or are thinking about starting a business, we invite you to participate. Entry fee to submit the business plan to win is $100 due 1 week prior to judging.
If you are a developer looking to offer your space for winners to select, participation is free. Our goal is to help you attract new tenants.
Sponsors, donors, mentors, and coaches have access to the list of participants, their plans and judging winners based on the level of contribution to the success of the program.
What’s in it for me?
If you are an entrepreneur, the obvious benefit is a year of rent and utilities paid in full for a full year if you win first prize, 6 months if you take second prize and 3 months if you come in 3rd. But more than that, you get access to some of the best business coaches in the community developing your plan. And even more, you get exposure to business influencers that you may never have had the opportunity to meet firsthand and share your brilliant ideas. What’s the value of that? Could be thousands … We think it’s priceless.
If you’re a developer, you get to show off your properties to potential tenants for FREE. We’ve already been told we shouldn’t be giving that away … but part of our goal is to help you help us stimulate community growth.
If you are a business services provider, you should be a sponsor, mentor, or coach or all of the above. You get an inside track to some up-and-coming business success stories that could become your long-term business clients or partners.
If you represent the city, county, or state … can you say tax revenue? These types of events translate to a vibrant community, which in turn attract people to the community.
Here’s how we’re measuring success
