Are you an entrepreneur with a business that is or will revitalize and bring equity to our community? How would you like to win 1 full year of rent and utilities paid in full? Project Impact’s CUC Business Development Center is launching CUC[RE]BUILD designed to discover those brilliant community building ideas that bring greater inclusion into community entrepreneurship ecosystems. CUC[RE]BUILD also provides a place to make the business grow.
Here's how it works
Every Tuesday from 6-8 pm we offer optional workshops in which we introduce participants to human centered design leading to customer discovery to better inform your business strategies using recognized tools. We also invite expert collaborating influencers to share in the discussion on how they organize information to develop the best possible plans and pitch decks in their respective businesses and programs. The key is small businesses that need better access to resources, information, capital and opportunities meet and work with those who have what they need and are willing to share. It’s about building profitable relationships. It’s all about INTENTIONAL COLLABORATION. We know there are a lot of individuals and programs in our community looking to eliminate the inequities that currently exist. The problem is we’re working in silos. CUC[RE]BUILD is focused on connecting those silos to collaborate. Businesses that want the help find the helpers. Those who want to help, find the businesses that need them. We’re building a community with common unity. What a concept! Who can participate? The short answer is anyone who wants to be part of this vibrant intentional collaboration. If you have a business or are starting a business or are thinking about starting a business, we invite you to participate. Entry fee to submit the business plan to win is $100 due 1 week prior to judging. But even if you don’t want to pay to be in the competition and just want to learn how to make your business better and meet the people who can make that happen … that’s OK. If you are a developer looking to offer your space for winners to select, participation is free. Our goal is to help you attract new tenants. And if you decide yours is a business that can benefit from a stronger business plan, do that too. Who knows? You could win a year of rent (or mortgage) and utilities paid in full. The only time details of your plan are shared with anyone else is when you choose to allow it. And even then, we encourage you to share it under non-disclosure. What’s in it for me?
If you are an entrepreneur, the obvious benefit is a year of rent (mortgage) and utilities paid in full for a full year if you win first prize, 6 months if you take second prize and 3 months if you come in 3rd. But more than that, you get access to some of the best business coaches in the community developing your plan. And even more, you get exposure to business influencers that you may never have had the opportunity to meet firsthand and share your brilliant ideas. What’s the value of that? Could be thousands … We think it’s priceless. If you’re a developer, you get to show off your properties to potential tenants for FREE. We’ve already been told we shouldn’t be giving that away … but part of our goal is to help you help us stimulate community growth. If you are a business services provider, you should be a sponsor, mentor, or coach or all of the above. You get an inside track to some up-and-coming business success stories that could become your long-term business clients or partners. |
